A blog by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration about justice and peace issues

About FSPA

As the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration we commit ourselves to promoting sustainability of the environment, seeking peace and justice for all, and inviting new members to join us on our Franciscan journey. The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have prayed 24/7 since 1878. We minister throughout the United States as well as Canada, Central America, Mexico and Africa. We offer a wide variety of ministry options including education, health care, parish—just to name a few.

Social Justice

FSPA constitution tells us that true to our Franciscan calling, we commit ourselves to building Christ’s kingdom of justice and peace. We continue our efforts to preserve and nurture God’s creation, to increase social and global consciousness, to educate ourselves to political awareness and to encourage action to effect change when necessary. FSPA Justice, Peace and Integration with Creation coordinator, Liz Deligio, works out of the 8th Day Center for Justice in Chicago. The 8th Day Center is a prophetic voice for nearly 40 religious congregations around the nation. FSPA is a sponsoring member of the center and this unique relationship allows us to have a bridge to work in solidarity for structural change with other congregations while also attuning to the justice call as expressed by our own community.
