A blog by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration about justice and peace issues

Catholic Sisters for a Healthy Earth have put together a reflection booklet entitled Earth As Our Home. In honor of Earth Day, I wanted share a resource that opens a space to reflect and act for Earth.
Earth Day began over 30 years ago when founder Gaylord Nelson declared April 22nd a day to honor the Earth. Mr.Nelson believed that if people came together they could change the way Americans tended to see Earth as a commodity.
At a time when we are seeing a troubling rise in severe weather, extinctions, resource depletion and pollution, Earth Day offers space to imagine–in community with others–a new way to be in relationship with the planet. Click on the link to begin reflecting on Earth as your home ….
